Fix E22 error codes or no hot/cold water issues with this water inlet valve. Controls water flow during fill cycles. 10-minute DIY repair.
I reseached these error codes and compared them to others problems. After deciding that I was gonna order the part and fix it myself I was at ease to find out it took 10min to fix! And it actually worked! The washer was pausing during cycles, cloths were soaking wet, spin cycle only worked on drain and spin at the end of the Ioad (it would spin slowly otherwise), soap dispenser still had the soap in it or it would be filled with water after the cycle was over. I watched videos on how to change... Read more
Fix a washer that won't drain or leaves clothes soaking wet. This drain pump removes water during the drain cycle. DIY-friendly, about 1 hour to install.
I drained the pump and removed coins etc from pump drain screen. This did not solve the problem, so I called Slagers, our local appliance store in Iowa City. The repair man came out two days later in the AM. He drained the pump again and checked the codes--he had to use our wireless internet because Sprint would not work from our house to determine the error code problem. He said it was the pump. I assumed he would call his Parts Dept for price and availability. Wrong assumption! He... Read more

Replace your washer's drive belt if you hear squealing, see smoke, or the drum won't spin. Confirms fit for GE front-load models. Video guide included.
I replaced the broken drive belt first and noticed the drive pulley loose. The nut that had held it in place had backed off. This resulted in significant wear on the pulley hub. I just tightened it up and installed the belt. I noticed the belt had a tendency to change its position on the pulley depending on the direction of rotation. I was a bit concerned but decided to see what would happen. This fix lasted for about a week. The belt came off the pulley and broken again. I called a... Read more

Fix error code 38 or washer won't fill with water. This diverter valve routes water between cycles. DIY repair restores normal operation quickly.
I replaced the door seal for the leak. We had a small tear in the sealing surface that resulted in water dripping down the front of the machine (just below the door). I also replaced the detergent dispenser main box with diverter unit. This corrected excessive water being left inside the detergent dispenser at the end of each cycle. I highly recommend replacing the dispenser seal and gasket nozzle to be on the safe side. As these parts are subject to wear and fatigue over the life of the... Read more
Fix water slowly leaking into your washer tub when the machine is off. This water inlet valve stops leaks caused by hard water deposits. DIY repair.
I replaced the water inlet valve. Apparently, the hard water in my house slowly deposits crud around the valves such at over time, the valve seals quit forming a tight seal when closing. This allows water to slowly leak through, even with the machine off. I removed the top of the washer, disconnected hoses and wires and replaced the valve in fairly short order. This fixed the problem. Read more
