Old plastic water line broke and i broke the valve trying to pull the end of the water line out Ronald W. • Sagaponack , NY • May 13, 2017
I replace the water inlet valve in my refrigerator about 8 months ago. About a week ago, the old plastic water line broke. I forgot how the water line connector worked and broke the valve trying to pull it out. I got a new valve and replacement water line, and it went in easily, just like the video said.
Morals of the story:
1. Know how to remove the old plastic water line. I could have saved myself the price of a new valve if I'd remembered how the connector worked. Unless you have a really...

Ice maker would not dispense ice and chute/container would frost over Theo S. • Tallahassee , FL • October 01, 2014
When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open.
I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video.
The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over.

Condenser fan stopped. Bob W. • San Carlos , CA • May 01, 2021
Condenser fan stopped on my big 2003 Monogram 4 foot wide ZIS480D Refrigerator. It is top mounted. The fridge had to be rolled out. 20 screws removed and the top sheet metal to get at the condenser. That was the only way to get at it. Works like new now.

Ice "lava flow" inside the freezer Kenneth C. • Alamo , CA • February 01, 2018
Firstly, the Ice Door had a kink in the edge, which caused it to stay open and create lots of frost on the coils. $5.00 part, highly recommend it. (By the way, the new door was little too big and it too stay propped open and left a gap so I had to trim the top edge of the rubber with scissors to get it to fully close.) Secondly, there are two heaters for the defrost cycle, one that goes around the coils and another attached to a collector pan beneath the coils. When the cycle hits, those...

Ice door was not closing causing ice build up in the ice chute and temperature fluctuations in the fridge Margaret F. • Windermere , FL • June 16, 2015
I ordered the ice door assembly and a door recess spring and while I was working on that particular area the ice chute funnel that kept falling off on one side. It was all very easy, took maybe 15 mins in all. I watched the "how to" video that was posted and it was extremely helpful, giving me to confidence to do this myself. The only thing I might do different another time would be to take a look at the assembly before ordering parts. I didn't as I didn't want to keep opening the area up...

The fan in the lower draw was not working Michael K. • Trinity , FL • February 16, 2025
I replaced the fan and heater element. The replacement was not an exact match. I had to adjust the parts to get the harness to fit the plug was not the correct size. I cut it off and used the existing plug. Not a big deal and everything else fit. Pretty good for a twenty year old replacement. Also the heater element was a different shape but it fit as is.
