This lid switch detects when the washer lid is closed and signals the control to allow motor operation. Replacing a faulty switch restores normal cycle starts and the washer's safety interlock. What it does:

• Detects lid position and completes the electrical circuit so the washer can start and run.
• Acts as the safety interlock that prevents the motor from running with the lid open.
• A failing switch can prevent the washer from starting, stop spin or agitation, or cause cycles to stop unexpectedly.

The Dispenser Switch is an OEM component for Whirlpool washing machines. Located inside the detergent compartment, it detects when the door is properly closed to enable cycle functions.

This PTC-style start relay mounts on the compressor and briefly powers the start winding so the compressor can start reliably. Replacing a weak or heat-damaged relay can restore cooling performance and stop repeated clicking from the compressor area.

• Supplies momentary power to the compressor's start winding at startup
• Opens automatically as the PTC warms, removing the start winding from the circuit
• Symptoms of a failing relay: compressor won't start, repeated clicking/humming, and rising temperatures
• Visual clues can include discoloration, melting, or a burnt odor on the relay housing

• Disconnect power and remove the rear lower access panel to reach the compressor
• Note wire locations and terminal orientation before removal; transfer wires one-for-one
• Push the new relay fully onto the compressor pins until seated securely
• Inspect the overload protector and wire terminals for heat damage; replace any burnt connectors before restoring power
