The Thermal Fuse is an OEM part for GE dryers. This part prevents the dryer from overheating by cutting off the power if the dryer exceeds a certain temperature.
Causes of a bad thermal fuse can include regular wear and tear, lint build-up, restricted airflow, or a malfunctioning thermostat.

Very easy to replace the fuse. Unplug the unit. Take off the back and swap it out. Only two wires.
