James Y Muncy , PA November 11, 2014 Appliance: Model MAYTAG CRG9700BAW Flame was appearing around the edge of the sealed burner I replaced the burner head. I turned off power to the stove, although I did not turn off the gas. I gave the old burner head a slight twist counter-clockwise until it lifted off the stove. I used the pliers to pull the wires from the old burner, then placed them onto the contacts on the new burner. Set it in place, and gave it a clockwise twist until it was snug. This stove originally came with gaskets beneath the burners, but the info for the replacement part stated that a gasket was not necessary, and indeed it is not. The burner is now working properly. For what it's worth, I completed my order about 3 or 4 PM on a Thursday afternoon; the FedEx driver delivered the package before 8 AM the next day, Friday. I didn't need the burner that quickly, but all the same the service was quite impressive. Charles B College Station , TX September 12, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Self Cleaning Free Standing Gas Range MGR5750ADW All 4 burner heads were rusted through below the holes flame becoming dangerous The video was a big help, showing just how easy the repair is. The Q&A was also valuable because it said the black heads were interchangeable with the original gray ones. They are and the black heads are considerably less expensive. The biggest challenge was breaking the severely rusted heads loose. A strap wrench took care of 3 of them, but the fourth crumbled and had to be rotated with a hammer and chisel. After that, it was a very easy repair. (Other than cleaning burned-on ... stuff!) I had some trouble getting a burner or two to light correctly with the sparker. There is a tiny hole just below and behind the electrode where the spark should jump. It had been painted over so the spark went above the insulator where it doesn't light as well. Chipped the paint, bent the electrode slightly and no problem. Took less than 15 min. per burner.
