Enrique M Tampa , FL October 04, 2015 Appliance: Model AP4263144 Broken handle on a 10 year old maytag dishwasher (door would not close anymore) I am 68 years old. What that means is that have seen enough in my life. And with the exception of Amazon.com. Every website on the Internet is a gamble. You can never really tell what kind of a company you are dealing with just from a website no matter how fancy it looks. I tried other Parts suppliers on the web before, and they were just what you expect: OK but nothing to brag about. With that attitude I came to this company, and after ordering the part, receiving it, installing it, dealing with customer service about a minor problem... I came to the conclusion that I actually like this company and the reason I am writing this review, because I believe good companies should be rewarded and at the same time help other users like me. 1 - I called the company, I was No 5 on the cue - Yes there is a message letting you know - and I like knowing where I stand so I can decide if I want to wait or not. 2 - When I talked to the agent, she was pleasant enough but most importantly, with the appliance model number in hand, we made sure what part, color etc I needed was right, and yes, I got the right part! 3 - There was a delay of one day with the part because of some error they made. The impressive part here, is that they sent me an email letting me know and even offered me a 20% discount the "next" time I needed parts. I actually thought this was a gimmick and I responded rather rudely, but they actually found the way to apply that discount to my CURRENT order, they way it SHOULD BE and therefore I was satisfied with the issue. 4 - I got the part on the day # 3. Regular/Standard shipping is 1 to 5 business days but it is obvious they want to send it asap so you can get it on day # 2. (as they advertise it on the website) 5 - I had already watched several Youtube videos on how to do this job - Thanks God for YouTube! - but it was nice to see this company have their own videos as well, demonstrating the installation of the part. At this point I began to appreciate how nice and organized their website really is!... The website makes clear on the home page things like: 2 day delivery, 365 day return and 100% $ reimbursement policy, free HELP if you need it. In other words, this company it is clear to me, they want to please their customers, just a bit ala “amazon.com” way, always a good thing. 6 - I Installed the part and it turned out to be as EASY as I had seen it in the videos. Needless to say everyone in my house was impressed with my abilities - even me! :-). The whole thing took me about 15 minutes and there it was FIXED! I should point out that this repair is really easy to begin with. But when you SEE IT done on videos, then it really becomes EASY. “Easy is when you know how to do something… and when you don’t, then it is difficult.” The video they provide explains everything very clearly. In fact one of the other videos I watched on YouTube actually confused me a bit. I thought the guy remove just the top 5 screws to remove the panel, when if fact you have to remove all 11 screws to be able to separate the panel. The old part came off really easy. I remove parts of the old “handle” (part of the Assembly) that had broken off inside the door of the dish washer. Remove the wires, connected them back to the new assembly - I will talk about keeping track of wired ahead - and since the assembly is held by 2 of the 11 screws removed, I closed the panel to the door, making sure the holes of the assembly matched, so the screw would hold the 3 pieces together. Of course I put the two screws to secure the assembly to the door, FIRST, and then the rest of the 9 screws that secure the entire panel to the door of the dishwasher, MAKING SURE that the screw holes lined up (the panel moves off easily), before torquing up the screws, just being careful that is all. FOR THOSE WHO DON’T HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE DOING REPAIRS: It is easy to disconnect wires!... but it can be very FRUSTRATING connecting them back to the new part if you don’t know where they go! - To solve this potential problem I make my life as easy as can by using several methods. I take PICTURES of the cables prior to disconnecting them. In addition, or, you can tag the wires with a small piece of tape with the a number corresponding to the number where it must be reconnected to the new part. You can also use a MARKER to write numbers on the parts themselves. Of course if the parts are black and the marker is black… well, you get idea, use your brain. Good Luck. Steven S Leesburg , VA June 21, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher MDB6701AWW0 Broken maytag dishwasher latch These particular Maytag dishwashers have weak poorly made latch handles; cheap plastic. This is our third latch in 5 years. This part is the way to go because the whole assembly is ready to replace the old one. Take the door cover screws off and the latch assembly is accessible. Unplug the two wire harness connectors and attach them to the new assembly in the same place. Install the latch assembly in position and install the door cover screws and you are good to go for a couple more years. Oh yeah, you will need a T-15 Torx driver for the doors screws.
