My cooktop repair was a total success from start to finish. I reviewed and later followed the APP repair video, which helped me decide if I wanted to tackle the repairs and guided me right before I started. The APP phone staff member was very helpful verifying the parts I had identified online using the model number of my older GE Profile cooktop to locate and view the correct online exploded view diagram. I told him it was a pleasure working with him. The parts arrived within 3 days of... Read more

I removed all the individual burners so I could lift the stainless cover to expose the igniter wires. I cleaned all the wire connections and the 4 good igniters and replaced the one bad igniter. Reassembly was easy and everything worked properly when done. Video of repair was helpful and all parts ordered were correct and shipped promptly and I will definitely use AppliancePartsPros again. This spark module controls ignition for your range's surface burners. When you turn a burner knob, it generates the high-voltage spark the electrodes need to ignite the gas quickly and consistently.
Refer to Mynor T. of Draper, UT Aug. 12, 2018 write-up. I benefited greatly from the above write-up. It took me a little less time to perform this repair (excluding cleaning the assembly) due to the write-up. This GE Profile gas burner cook top is a “drop-in” model meant to be installed into counter top cut outs. The glass top edges are the actual support area for the entire cook top assembly. The burner bases (on top of the glass top) are screwed to the metal case enclosure (located beneath... Read more
The Fan Switch is an OEM replacement part for GE cooktops. Measuring approximately 2 inches by 1 inch, this fan switch serves as a component in activating the downdraft fan. I had to take the control board off the bottom of the cooktop and replace the fan switch. The post that fits into the hand switch had broken off. The new switch cost about $35, it was an exact replacement and the whole repair took less than an hour. My wife is very happy because now she can again use the downdraft fan on the cooktop. Symptoms of a bad Top Burner Igniter include:
Second repair after 10 years of service - igniter had cracked and spill overs were causing the others to misfire. This was a two-step process. I took apart the cooktop to see what parts were neded. Screws were all rusted, I had to drill ome out. The burner gaskets broke during the process and needed replacement. One of the burners had deformed due to excess heat. After that initial diagnose, I reassembled the cooktop without the igniters and ordered all the parts I needed. The second stage was... Read more

I decided to replace my igniters because I suspected that they were shorted. Due to my recklessness, I was too hard in taking them off and broke a couple. But with Appliance Pro's recommendations, I moved on to treplacing the switch harness assembly. I have to say that the replacement of the switch harness assembly took no more than 30 seconds. It was removing the base burners and the porcelain/cermaic igniters from their bases that took forever. Just a heads up to those amateurs like me, be... Read more

No youtube video or directions, I just had to wing it. I successfully completed the project in less than 40 minutes. Appliance Parts Pros sent me exactly what I needed with very quick shipping. $100 in parts and a few minutes saved me $1600 and hours. Read more
This burner grommet sits beneath the gas burner head on the cooktop surface, providing a snug seat and spill barrier. Replacing a worn grommet helps keep the burner level and helps prevent spills and debris from entering the burner box.
Well after looking the issue up on YouTube I first tried the cleaning of the burners no help. So I decided I needed to replace either the harness switch assembly or the spark module. I decided that since I had to remove the glass top and install either and put if all back together before I would know if it worked, I just did both at once since it seemed it had to be one or the other. Got the parts ordered for the correct model, turned off the gas and pulled the top. Took about 90 minutes,... Read more
