Had to open the back up, removed the heating element and then replaced the heater tube. Then I put it all together again and everything is fine now. William G Lakeland , TN August 20, 2016 Whirlpool dryer heater box rusted My whirlpool dryer is 16 years old and some rust started to form on the screen of the heater box. Appliance parts pros had the lowest price and lowest shipping. Once you take the back panel off the dryer it's straight forward for most brands. Take the heater element box and thermostat off the heater box, then take all the screws out holding the heater box to the dryer. Whole thing will take an hour start to finish by the time you start pulling the dryer out from the wall. Gary M Appleton , WI April 11, 2017 Heater box had rusted and left ruff spots so towels were gettng snags on them Unplugged dryer, removed back, disconnected wires to heating element. removed screws that held heating element to box, and opened top lid to get at screw that held the strap at the top of the heater box. Pushed box out of rear of drum and installed new heater box in reverse order od removing. Read More...
