I unscrewed the 3 Phillips screws on the back of the dryer controls housing, then it folds forward for access to each control switch. the old one popped out, and I swapped the wires using a needle nose pliers, one by one, from the old switch to the new switch. First checked the power then took off the compresser connections cover looked for burnt wires or loose or disconnected wires they were none of those I then removed the wires from the starter an overload protector removed them checked both for contunuaty overload protector no contunuaty then I checked the 3 poles on the comp. for contunuaty they were ok then I checked each pole to ground on the com. to final check that the comp. was still good Read more

Biggest problem was trying to get at the switch to replace it. Had to remove two allen head screws to gain access on the back panel of the range hood. The allen heads were very small fortunately I had a number bits from my old electric screw driver that allowed me to remove them.
