Description

The carburetor repair kit is necessary when replacing a carburetor that has failed. The carburetor regulates the air and fuel combination within the engine for optimum performance levels. When the carburetor clogs, is failing, or has stopped working, the signs a repair or replacement is necessary include backfiring, overheating, poor engine performance, black smoke coming from the exhaust, or difficulty starting the engine.The carburetor is relatively simple to change and requires gloves, a screwdriver, Allen wrenches, and basic knowledge of the equipment being worked on. Disconnect the spark plug, drain the fuel tank, disconnect the fuel lines, and remove the air filter. There is where the carburetor is located. It can be removed with a screwdriver. Install the new carburetor and reconnect the fuel lines. Reinstall the air filter.
