The Thrust Spacer Washer is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines, designed to fit between the pulley and transmission shaft, ensuring smooth operation of the agitator and spin cycles. This small but essential component plays a critical role in reducing friction and wear between moving parts, helping to maintain the efficiency and longevity of the appliance.
Causes of a bad thrust spacer washer can range from normal wear and tear, which gradually erodes its effectiveness, to improper installation or alignment, which can increase friction and cause premature failure.
Symptoms of a malfunctioning thrust spacer washer include:
- The washing machine making unusual noises during the spin cycle
- The agitator not moving smoothly or effectively
- Difficulty in the washer transitioning between cycles
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.
