Juan F. for Model Number AP4929089 I am re-posting a question as the advice given is 100% wrong and would like to avoid the same problem for other people. Here is my original question: "I replaced part # AP4929089 (actually two parts display and Board) and everything seems to be working for a little while. For example, I set the oven to pre-heat at 300 and when it gets to 290 it turns off and get error code F7. Obviously no one was leaning on the control panel for 32 seconds as the error code on the owner manual suggests. Not sure what is going on. I took pictures of every cable before disconnecting and re-connected the same way all of the many cables. Could it be a defective part or is it something else? This was the response: Juan, Before you replace the keypad / touchpanel AP2827877, check and clean the touchpad ribbon end, and the control connection with some electrical contact cleaner, and make sure the connection is tight, when the ribbon is plugged into the connector. It the F7 code persists after that you'll need to replace the keypad control panel. Thanks. The correct advice which I found in another on-line forum where many people seemed to be having the same F7 error was due to one of the two cables that connect from the board to the display unit was being crushed between the panel and the metal plate that is behind the key pad. It turns out that I had put both cables through the large opening and the smaller 4 square jumper connector should have been put through the smaller opening. This avoided the jumper cable to be jammed in between the key pad and the plate and now everything is working as expected. You should update your answer database as the advice given would have caused me to buy a new keypad.
Answer Hi Juan. We apologize @ any inconvenience you had. In the installation instructions, does it state where the cables are routed correctly? We continually strive on a daily basis to update pertinent information such as this. The Square 4-pin connector needs to be routed correctly so it does not electrically interfere with the ribbon cables as in magnetic interference as well. We are glad the Oven display part # 00702451 is working well now and solved your overall issues as well. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, July 14, 2012
