Zoe M for Model Number FGUS2642LFO I just acquired a side-by-side fridge model FGUS2642LFO and both the fridge and freezer are cooling well and according to the temperature panel are getting to the set temperatures. However, the freezer continuously runs and never shuts off even when it says it has reached the set temp. If you lower the set temperature for the freezer then the compressor will shut off. But as soon as the temperature drops and the unit need to begin cooling again the compressor comes on and will not turn back off unless you lower the desired temperature below the current temperature. So it seems to be getting the signal to turn on when the freezer gets too warm but does not get the signal to turn off when it gets cool enough.
Answer Zoe, You will want to check the thermistors in the unit to make sure that they are reading proper resistance for what the unit temp is and if not then the thermistors would need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, April 16, 2015
