Richard for Model Number PLHS267ZAB5 I recently relocated this fridge to the basement. It was in perfect order prior to move. Once located and reassembled, I noticed that the Freezer was only cool. 5 degrees above freezing and the same was for the fridge compartment. The compressor is running and so is the evaporator fan. The condenser coils have also been cleaned and there is sufficient ventilation in the area. The temp knobs have been positioned on. After 5 days, of increasing the cool (allowing for adjustment), the feezer section is still not dropping below 5 degrees. I have removed the panel in the freezer and noticed that 1 of th the evaporator coils (copper tubes) coming from the defrost heater assembly is frosted over., but only at the TOP of the assembly. The coils that snake through the defrost assembly are room temperature. I'm trying to pinpoint the cause and source. Happy to send through a photo of what I am dealing with.
Answer Richard, From what you are saying a couple of things may have happened. If the unit was laid to far back during moving it the oil from the compressor could have been pushed into the system thus creating a blockage in the system. Other than that make sure the condenser fan is running. If a blockage has occurred then a sealed system repair is necessary and a certified refrigeration tech is needed. Read More...
