Steve for Model Number 253.54703405 My compressor and compressor fan are not starting up. The fan inside the freezer is working fine but since compressor never starts up there is zero cooling in the refrigerator. I checked for voltage at the relay and there is none whatsoever. I see two cold control thermostats in the refrigerator. One for freezer 5304496561 and second for refrigerator side 241537104. I can't figure out which one of these two send voltage to the compressor? Please help!!
Answer Hello Steve, thank you for contacting AppliancePartsPros.com It is unlikely that both of those thermostats would go bad, but you can test them for continuity to see if one of them is remaining open all the time. I would suspect that the adaptive defrost control board 5303918476 has failed. This board receives voltage and input from each of those thermostats and controls the compressor run time. Unfortunately, the adaptive defrost control has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available for purchase. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, June 5, 2025
