976Soud for Model Number FRS6LF7JS0 Hello. We have hired three different people to check our fridgidaire side by side after the freezer wouldn't defrost.. They have replaced the control-defrost 4 times and checked all wires stating nothing else needs replaced. Fridgidaire was called and we were told to replace that part once again. Our freezer will still not go into defrost on its own. We can force into defrost mode and now our fridge is super cold.. We are very frustrated as this has been ongoing for at least 4 months. What should we do?
Answer Hello. It sounds like a wiring issue with the unit since the board has been replaced 4 times and the unit will do a manual defrost. Some wires are molded into the cabinet. If those are bad, it will be time for a new refrigerator. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
