Robert May 05, 2022 for Model Number FRS6LF7JW0 Fridge and freezer not keeping cold enough. Bottom of freezer icing up. Unplugged and let it thaw out. Started troubleshooting, the defrost thermostat and defrost heater cked out ok. Noticed I was only getting partial voltage down to the heater, around 38v. Does this mean the defrost control board is bad? It is a Frigidaire, side by side, frost proof, manufactured May 2008.
1 Answer Robert, This would indicate that the defrost control board is faulty and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Tom January 29, 2022 for Model Number FRS23LH5DW0 My freezer and fridge don’t seem to cool properly The back of freezer frosts up and eventually I get water on the floor Doesn’t seem like it’s defrosting properly I had a and e out and they replaced the heater and thermostat But still has problems Can you help me Can I get a part number Thanks
1 Answer Tom, the defrost drain under the evaporator would need to be inspected to identify if it is blocked up with ice. If it is, the moisture will collect on the evaporator after a defrost cycle and ice will build up. The defrost drain would then need to be cleared out thoroughly and the drain tubing 241957901 near the compressor would need to be inspected for any pinched sections (replace if there is a pinched or damaged section). Michael February 23, 2021 for Model Number frs26hf6bq3 will a on a frigidaire defrost card 242011001 work in place of a 241508001 on the aforementioned frigidaire side by side?
1 Answer Hello Michael, the manufacturer does not show the 2 defrost controls are interchangeable. Read More...
Brian October 19, 2020 for Model Number GLHS68EJSB0 frigidaire side by side that perform's as it should except it does not defrost, the control board isnt next to damper or behind kick plate so iam not sure what the part is that controls the defrost as thermostat is fine along with heater element. any help would be much appreciated
1 Answer Brian, Based on the model provided the control for the defrost is in the electronic control board mounted on the top of the fresh food section. Part# 241739711 Read More...
Curtis Teague August 15, 2020 for Model Number FRS6L7EES9 My refrigerator and freezer are not cooling. Condenser in the freezer is freezing up. I replaced the defrost thermostat and checked that the heater is reading correct resistance. After defrosting while power is off it cools correctly for a short time then begins to freeze up again. Is the defrost control board the next likely culprit? Is there something else I should check first? Thanks.
1 Answer Curtis, With the unit not going into a defrost cycle and the thermostat and heater are good then the defrost control will be the issue and will be part of the control board 5303918340. Read More...
Fridge Diy May 06, 2019 for Model Number FRS6LR5EW6 I own a frigidaire (Model: FRS6LR5EW6) refrigerator and have blocks of ice on the coil. When I do a manual defrost (pushing the light 5 times in the fresh food side), the defrost cycle begins: Does this mean that the electronic defrost control board is actually in working condition?
1 Answer FridgeDIY, When you program the defrost test cycle, you're "forcing" the ADC control board into the defrost cycle, you could still have a "glitch" in the board. But "blocks of ice on the coil" could indicate other issues, incomplete defrost, intermittent evaporator fan operation, possibly, a restriction in the sealed system(but not likely) . How long does the refrigerator operate, after you defrost it ? Read More...
Tom November 18, 2018 for Model Number FRS6HR5JQ0 My fridge FRS6HR5JQ0 stays in defrost too long, it was causing my ice to melt then refreeze so it was clumping making it unusable, I replaced the defrost thermostat and it got worse, now it stays in defrost for hours at a time then gets super cold, then goes back in defrost for hours again, I replaced the defrost thermostat again, thinking the part was defective and it is still doing the same thing, I am thinking that the defrost timer is bad, 1- would that be a correct assumption and 2- if so do I need to replace the wire harness ? I see the part is available with or without the wire harness, what would require it to be changed along with the timer ? Finally, is there anything I could possibly have damaged while replacing the defrost thermostat ? I don't see how clipping two wires and crimping the back together but it is odd that while my ice was clumping, the fridge still worked, now it isn't usable and the only difference is that part, and I replaced the first one thinking it was bad, I can't see tow brand new thermostats being bad. THANKS
1 Answer Tom, The part number that would be needed is the defrost control board 242011001 and it will come with the control board and wire harness. You will want to replace the wire harness that comes with the part. Read More...
Thomas June 26, 2017 for Model Number FFHS2611LWF Hi. I believe the defrost control board went out in my refrigerator. I followed the troubleshooting steps and found that the defrost coil and thermostat both have continuity but the coils still freeze up every 3 or so days and the fridge stops cooling. I watched a video on replacing the controller on here and even though the fridge was similar to mine the controller was not located in that place (Frigidaire side by side, it's not located next to the damper and behind the controls at the top of the fridge like in the video). Can you help me locate it in my model fridge? I am having trouble finding the information online. Thanks
1 Answer Thomas, The part number for the control board that is needed will be A01078804 which would be the display in the refrigerator. Read More...

1 Answer Jerry, The power for the compressor and fan motor run through the defrost control which is part number 242011001 and will be the most likely cause for the issue. Read More...
976Soud August 02, 2016 for Model Number FRS6LF7JS0 Hello. We have hired three different people to check our fridgidaire side by side after the freezer wouldn't defrost.. They have replaced the control-defrost 4 times and checked all wires stating nothing else needs replaced. Fridgidaire was called and we were told to replace that part once again. Our freezer will still not go into defrost on its own. We can force into defrost mode and now our fridge is super cold.. We are very frustrated as this has been ongoing for at least 4 months. What should we do?
1 Answer Hello. It sounds like a wiring issue with the unit since the board has been replaced 4 times and the unit will do a manual defrost. Some wires are molded into the cabinet. If those are bad, it will be time for a new refrigerator. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
