The Electrical Control is an OEM part compatible with Frigidaire upright freezers. As the primary processing board, it monitors all freezer functions including temperature, fans, lighting, and door sensors. A faulty control compromises dependability.

Symptoms of a bad control include:

  • Inconsistent or fluctuating interior temperatures
  • Failure of lights or other electrical accessories
  • Poor fan or defrost performance issues
  • Error codes displayed on control panels

Causes can be water intrusion disrupting circuits, dust buildup over many years of operation, or typical wear over time.

This Frigidaire OEM part fits Electrolux, Gibson, Danby and select Kenmore models for a factory-accurate replacement that preserves reliability.

Answer

Mike, It would be recommended to check to see if there is either a defrost issue or a sealed system issue. The way to determine this would be to remove the rear panel inside the freezer and check the frost pattern of the evaporator coils. If the coils are impacted with ice then test the defrost heater and defrost thermostat for continuity and if there is no continuity it is bad. If there is continuity then the issue will be a faulty control. If there is very little ice mainly toward the top of the evaporator coils then this will be a sealed system issue in which you will need to have service tech. The frost pattern should be a full even frost from top to bottom.
