The Electrical Control is an OEM part compatible with Frigidaire upright freezers. As the primary processing board, it monitors all freezer functions including temperature, fans, lighting, and door sensors. A faulty control compromises dependability.

Symptoms of a bad control include:

  • Inconsistent or fluctuating interior temperatures
  • Failure of lights or other electrical accessories
  • Poor fan or defrost performance issues
  • Error codes displayed on control panels

Causes can be water intrusion disrupting circuits, dust buildup over many years of operation, or typical wear over time.

This Frigidaire OEM part fits Electrolux, Gibson, Danby and select Kenmore models for a factory-accurate replacement that preserves reliability.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Electrical Control (Part Number: OEM15920400)

1 Answer

Tom, it would be recommended that the internal temperature of the unit is verified using a thermometer to ensure it is reaching the set temperature. If it is not reaching the set temperature and the compressor is operating very frequently, it would be likely that there is a sealed system failure that would require an EPA certified technician to diagnose and repair.

Ron, For this control board, there will be no way to test it and if everything else is checking to be good then the board will be the issue.

Jesse, power surges, shorted wires, and other variables can cause the early failure of a control board. Inspecting the wires for a short to ground would be recommended, as well as inspecting for corroded connections. If there is moisture getting behind the control, this can impact the control life as well.

Richard for Model Number 253.28432800

My freezer intermittently stops cooling . I can unplug it and plug it back in and it starts cooling again. One time when I noticed it had thawed I happen to feel the side of the box and it was warm indicating the compressor was running. This isnt always the case so I'm a bit confused. Not sure how/ what initiates the defrost cycle and how its controlled. What does the defrost t-stat do, initiate or end the defrost cycle. I will check the heater and the defrost t-stat for continuity. Suggestion / advice would be appreciated RC
