Customer Questions and Answers for Front Felt Glide Assembly by Frigidaire

By: Frigidaire
Part Number: OEM6451500
Manufacturer Part Number: 5303937139

The Front Felt Glide Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This part allows smooth operation of the dryer drum, providing a felt pad that the drum glides on as it rotates. This not only helps to support the drum but also minimizes friction and noise, contributing to the efficient and quiet operation of the dryer.

Over time, the felt portion of the glide assembly can wear down, leading to increased friction between the drum and the dryer's front panel.

Symptoms of a bad Front Felt Glide Assembly include:

  • Unusual noises during operation, such as squeaking or grinding
  • The dryer drum may catch or hesitate during rotation
  • Increased wear and tear on clothing due to the drum's rough movement
  • The dryer may take longer to dry clothes efficiently due to the drum's impaired rotation

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Roger G. for Model Number 417.80042990 kenmore electric dryer

The front of the drum has alot of play in it, you can raise or lower it about 1/4 of a inch. Every year for the past three years sears has come out and replaced top seal but none of them have had plastic guides as yours shows. First it was putting brown spots on alot of clothes, but this time it was doing the same and also ripping alot of our clothes and are warranty agreement has expired. I feel sears put the wrong seal on. The bearing-drum support, bearing brakcet, and bearing seem to be okay. No noise or movement on rear of the drum like the front has.

Answer

Hi. Then with all you have mentioned then you need to replace this upper felt glide assy. part # 5303937139 to keep the tumbler level and running true to the rear bearing and felt seals as well. Replace the lower felt seal part # 5303283286 as it is more then likely worn out as well. Make sure the rear bearing has enough lubricant part # 5303307893. Thank You.
