Gerry B for Model Number fghs2631pf4a Our Frigidaire side by side is a little over 1 year old. I replaced the ice maker pin prick needle feeder valve with a compression valve. The next day (less than 24 hrs.) the inside of the freezer had frozen water all the way down the back and onto the top of the bottom tray. I cleaned it all up and in less then two hours it had started again. Fridge is now off. Could the new valve be allowing too much water? Also, the water filter replacement light is on. We have the house on the market and do not use the fridge regularly anymore. This problem started when I had to replace the feeder valve.
Answer Gerry, This issue does sound like it could be caused by too high of water pressure and would suggest if able, reduce the flow of the water. If it continues to happen then it would be a faulty water valve. For the filter you would want to reset the light at the dispenser assembly. Read More...
