Patrick for Model Number Hot Point RGB740DEH4WH Range There was a lightning strike near my Mother's home. Her range flashed F2 and the oven came on and we couldn't get t to turn off. I unplugged the range overnight and it did the same thing when we plugged it back up. What is wrong?
Answer Patrick, The F2 is a oven over temperature condition. This happens when the door is unlocked and the temperature goes above 630 degrees. This will most likely be caused by a faulty control board in which the contacts in the relay are welded together with the unit coming on by itself and not shutting off.
