Replacement membrane keypad that restores the oven/range control interface so you can enter temperatures, cook modes and timers with responsive button feedback. Ideal when keys are worn, unresponsive, or hard to read. What it does:

  • Sends user button presses to the appliance's electronic control so you can select bake/broil modes, timers, and temperature settings.
  • Use when buttons are unresponsive, intermittent, sticky, or not registering inputs.
  • Helps when key labels are faded or damaged and make controls difficult to read.
  • Does not replace the main control board; it provides the user interface that communicates with the control.
What's included: One keypad assembly. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before beginning any repair.
  • Access may require removing the console trim or control panel; keep track of screws and clips.
  • Carefully disconnect and reconnect the keypad ribbon cable to avoid bending or damaging the contacts.

Joe for Model Number pdw9880j00ss

Hi. My touch screen never really worked well. The buttons never felt right. Some feel different then others. Every once in a while I had to reboot the dishwasher by turning off the power and turning it back on at the breaker. Now less lights are working on the key pad so I am not sure what cycle it is on. It always cleaned well until recently. Now the dishes are clean but there is a hazy film on everything including the inside of the machine. I do use jet dry. Does the keypad relate to this problem or do I have another problem ? Thank you!

Answer

Hi Joe. You have 2- separate issues. The keypad is part # WD34X10908. You can remove the inner door panel and see if the keypad ribbon cable is correctly pushed into the control board part # WD12X10353. Are the digits not displaying ? It is part # WD21X10255. Use the supplied tech sheet in the toe kick or the control area to aid along with the volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. You can remove the ribbon cable and use an eraser on the end to clean it and re-insert it into the control board. As far as the film depends on the, 1. Water temperature incoming from the sink (while loading the dishes) should be at least 120-125°. If not raise it on the water heater (poss. bad heater element?). It has to be this temp. to have the proper chemical reaction to get the dishes clean. Are the wash arm jets clogged and needing cleaned with a pick tool under the sink? Is the top sump/ filter clogged? Remove racks and remove the top of the inner sump cover. Clean all as you go. Make sure the chopper blade part # WD19X10032 is not damaged to macerate the food/ debris. Remove the back intake cover and see if there are any clogs there as well. Use dishwasher cleaner part # TJ104 monthly to keep up proper performance. Thank You.
