Becky for Model Number gld4600n10bb ge dishwasher my dishwasher makes a sound like there is something in the bottom when it is draining. like being hit with a fan bouncing around. I can not see how to get down into the area where the pump is to see what is in there. Not sure how something could have gotten down in this area. help
Answer Becky, Your dishwasher has a separate drain pump WD26X10025, You can't access it from inside the tub. Yes, it is possible to get a small article indide the drain pump and it will make noise, similar to your description. Here's some help, from the service manual " To remove the drain pump: 1. Disconnect power. 2. Remove the dishwasher from its installation. 3. Lay the dishwasher on its back. 4. Disconnect the 2 wires from the drain pump. 5. Loosen the 5/16-in. hex-head screw, then pull the drain pump off the sump." In most cases, you don't have to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet, but it makes for an awkward, "tight" area to work in. Read More...
