Ken for Model Number PSC23MSTE SS My GE refrigerator has 6 wires emanating from the plug for the evaporator motor. Four go to the motor, and two white wires attach to what appears to be a thermocouple. All six wires are fastened into a bundle by a cylindrical blue rubber grommet, roughly 1" in length, several inches down from the plug. The picture of the part that comes very close to what I have is for part #AP4438809. However, when I cross check with the Appliance Compatibility Tool, I find that my model is not listed. When I search on the refrigerator model, the web site gives me a choice of two models: AP3875639 and AP3191003. The former has four wires, and the latter has 5 wires. Neither look close to what I have, and neither check out with compatibility tool. What is the correct part ? Can you point me to a picture that I can compare against ?
Answer Ken, The evaporator fan motor WR60X10074 has 6 wires and is the correct one for your unit. In the picture you will notice a blue, yellow, red, and white coming off of the motor itself. When you look just beyond the blue grommet you will notice 3 white wires that go to the plug which 2 are for the thermistor/thermocouple. Read More...
