Replaced Mwf Filter for Model Number GSS25WSTIS I replaced my MWF water filter with a GE replacement. There were no issues with water pressure prior to changing the filter. I forgot to fill the filter with water before installing. When I use the water dispenser, there is a burst of high pressure water followed by an extremely light stream of water. Also there is a 'humming' noise. I have purged the system by running the water through the door for over 5 consecutive minutes and there is no increase in water pressure. The only difference in water pressure is when I over-tighten the filter. This leads me to believe that the rubber gaskets may not be creating a good seal - although the refrigerator is two years old. 1.) does this system include the entire assembly (looking for just the gaskets if it is the cause)? 2.) what is the cause?
Answer Hello. Did the new filter MWFP look like the old one you removed and the old was not the metals canister filter that needs the adapter ADAPTER. If the filters were the same, and there is no air in the system, you will need to replace the filter housing WR02X45206 on the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
