I just replaced push to start switch, dryer will not stay on unless I keep push button down. GTDP180ED0WW whats the problem? Dryer works fine

Hello Leigh, the most common cause of this issue on dryers is losing the run windings on the motor part number WE17X22217. Hope this helps!

Leigh, with the power disconnected, you may want to test the interlock switch WD21X10261 found near the motor WE17X22217. The switch will need to be activated and tested for continuity. If the switch has continuity while in the activated state, then the centrifugal switch in the motor has failed. If the switch does not have continuity when activated, then the switch has failed.
