Part Number: OEM21647328
Manufacturer Part Number: WD21X24901C

The Service Machine Control is an OEM component specifically designed for GE dishwashers. As the main control board, it regulates all wash cycles including temperature, filtration, spray arm rotation, drying functions and end of cycle signals.

Causes of a faulty service machine control include normal wear and tear over time. Electronic failures or water exposure from plumbing issues can also trigger malfunctions.

Symptoms of a failing control board are:

  • Inability to progress through cycles fully
  • Flashing error codes during washes
  • Inconsistent wash and rinse performance
  • Component damage from power overload issues

Replacing it with this genuine GE OEM part restores optimal cycle handling. Proper controls are essential for sanitizing every wash. The part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA and some Kenmore models.

Brandon for Model Number GDT655SMJoES

Dishwasher would make random beeps for a month before UI lights went completely out. It would not enter Consumer error mode - display completely out. MC board led consistently on. Confirmed 13.5 volts for IU at MC board pins and again at IU board (after taking IU board out). Replaced IU board with WD21X23462 with appropriate jumper settings. Powered back on. Now door lock controls indicator (orange light on front panel) blinks constantly and washer chimes every few minutes. Other indicator lights that are permanently illuminated include "steam, lower, heated dry." MC led indicator is now flashing 4x over 2.5 seconds, pauses, and then flashes again. Rechecked the connectors, power cycled, checked source voltage and all are good. Any chances we are experiencing a compound failure to include the door lock or MC board? Thoughts appreciated. Thx in advance.

Answer

Brandon, based on the information provided, the machine control WD21X24901C is sensing that the door is open when it is flashing 4 times before pausing and repeating the flash pattern. With the power supply turned off, the door latch WD21X10490 can be tested for continuity from the machine control at the connection J711. With one meter probe staying on the tan and red wire at pin 3, the other probe can be placed on the violet and yellow wire, then moved to the white and grey wire to identify if there is continuity. If there is, the machine control has failed. If not, the wires and the door latch would need to be tested individually.
