Robert M for Model Number TFX27FHC My GE side by side freezer door does not close on its own. When closing by hand it also offers some resistance. I found some broken plastic half circles or rings around the bottom hinge pin. I replaced the lower hinge but still encounter the same problem. I think there may be another plastic part that attaches to the door that rides on the plastic cam that was riveted on the new hinge. I can't seem to verify this by the diagram. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Answer Hi Robert. The freezer door uses a shim cam Part # WR2X9443. The fridge door uses the same shim type part # WR2X7490 On top of the door. It also uses door stop part # WR2X7213, shim cam part # WR2X7491 on the bottom and cam riser is mounted on the door. It come with the door lower hinge kit part # WR13X21523. The door itself does not have a inner bushing separate to sell. If you can use silicone and / or epoxy to insert these back in, this is all we can suggest. I gave the other part #'s to assist also. If a part You bought from us is received broken, then you can get it replaced. Please call 1-877-477-7278 A.P.P. Call Center. Thank You. Read More...
