Bob K May 22, 2013 for Model Number GE TFX271LB Refrigerator door not closing by itself, and we found some broken plastic parts on the floor. After reading through the posts, I am a little confused as to what I need to fix the problem. I know I at least need the CAM RISER , AP2059426, but what about the two (2) SHIM CAMS, AP2059404 and AP259405? How about stuff for the top hinge? I got the part names and numbers from your diagram, so if they are not correct, please give me the correct information. Thank you, Bob
1 Answer Hello Bob. The only way to know exactly what you need is to remove the door from the unit and see which parts are broke and missing. If the parts are not broke, you can reuse them. Read More...
Robert M October 29, 2011 for Model Number TFX27FHC My GE side by side freezer door does not close on its own. When closing by hand it also offers some resistance. I found some broken plastic half circles or rings around the bottom hinge pin. I replaced the lower hinge but still encounter the same problem. I think there may be another plastic part that attaches to the door that rides on the plastic cam that was riveted on the new hinge. I can't seem to verify this by the diagram. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
1 Answer Hi Robert. The freezer door uses a shim cam Part # WR2X9443. The fridge door uses the same shim type part # WR2X7490 On top of the door. It also uses door stop part # WR2X7213, shim cam part # WR2X7491 on the bottom and cam riser is mounted on the door. It come with the door lower hinge kit part # WR13X21523. The door itself does not have a inner bushing separate to sell. If you can use silicone and / or epoxy to insert these back in, this is all we can suggest. I gave the other part #'s to assist also. If a part You bought from us is received broken, then you can get it replaced. Please call 1-877-477-7278 A.P.P. Call Center. Thank You. Read More...
