Alan for Model Number LG LMX28988SB My LG refrigerator doesn't make any ice. The ice maker resets correctly and water comes out just fine, but no ice! I have replaced the refrigerator sensor and the temp is set correctly. Still no ice. Freezer temp is correct as well. Filter has been changed properly every 6 months. Mechanically the ice maker works! So, I have no idea! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you
Answer Alan, it would be recommended that the ice maker fan in the freezer section is inspected to identify if it is able to send cold air to the ice maker. This can be easily checked by opening the left refrigerator door and holding down the door switch while checking for airflow at the vent where the door presses into the sidewall. If there is good airflow, the next step would be to verify the temperature in the freezer with a thermometer as it is possible that there might be a temperature offset. If these all check ok, then the failure would most likely be in the ice maker itself. For the most accurate parts information, the series/revision number would be necessary. Read More...
