Dave for Model Number 795.72183.315

I have a Kenmore Elite fridge with an ice maker. The ice maker stopped dispensing the ice so I replaced the ice maker kit with the matching part number AEQ73110203. I ordered it from Appliance Parts Pros, installed the first one with ease and the ice still would not dispense the ice into the ice container. I am on my third ice maker which I installed yesterday. It still only starts to turn about an inch to dispense the ice when ready and stops. I can remove the ice cube container and hit the test button and the tray turns and twists and dispenses the ice. I can't get it to dispense the ice automatically?? HELP!

Answer

Hello Dave, the problem is not the ice maker. This model ref control board will not start an ice harvest until the thermistor in the ice maker reaches a temp of 0 deg. So first check the temp of the ice maker area, if not cold enough check the freezer section temp, if reaching 0 deg then likely the ice maker fan ABA72913415 located on the left side of the freezer evap cover is faulty and not pushing enough freezer air to the ice maker.
