The Rotor Assembly is an OEM part for LG washing machines. This component is critical for the proper functioning of the washer's motor, helping to rotate the drum during the wash and spin cycles. It works in conjunction with the stator to generate the necessary magnetic fields for drum rotation.

Causes of a bad rotor assembly can include excessive wear over time, exposure to heavy loads, or physical damage due to mishandling. A malfunctioning rotor assembly can hinder the washer’s ability to spin and agitate effectively.

Symptoms of a bad rotor assembly include:

  • The drum not spinning or agitating properly
  • Unusual noises such as grinding or clunking during operation
  • Error codes related to motor issues displayed on the control panel
  • The washer not completing wash cycles correctly

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Murray for Model Number LG WM1832CW

I was having increasingly frequent spin problems until one day a loud grinding noise came from the rear of the machine. I removed the access cover and discovered the spline on the nylon hub of the Rotor assy was stripped. I ordered a new Rotor Assy and Hall sensor. Received the parts, installed them, however now I have Rotor lock. I've checked the resistance of the Stator, it appears to be within specs. Ive checked the power connection to the Stator, and there is voltage , however Im not sure of the correct values. I've removed and re-assembled the new components a couple of times, but I still get rotor lock. I've turned the drum by hand, so I know its not seized. Do you have any suggestions. Thank you for your time.

Answer

Murray, If getting an LE error code you will want to check the flowing. • The connector (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS is not connected to the connector (3-pin, female, white) of STATOR ASSEMBLY. • The electric contact between the connectors (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS and 4-pin, female, white connector in the MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is bad or unstable. • The MOTOR HARNESS between the STATOR ASSEMBLY and MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is cut (open circuited). • The hall sensor is out of order/defective
