Jesse for Model Number WM2277HW I have a WM2277HW and I ordered this part a couple of weeks ago because the old one was completely stripped out. I just finally tried to install it last night, and the rotor would not go onto the spindle at all using the method shown in the video (pushing hard and wobbling it back and forth) I was able to get it half way onto the spindle by waling on it with a mallet, but that was about it. Tried to use the bolt to draw it in the rest of the way, and it just stripped the bolt. Is this definitely the right part for my washer?
Answer Jesse, first check and make sure you have the correct part in the box. Then check for any loose, cracked or damaged magnets, and make sure they are all in position. Check the "splined" portion of the spindle, Make sure it's not damaged where the original rotor splines were mounted/aligned on the shaft. Lastly, make sure the RPS sensor and wiring are in the proper position and mounted to the stator properly. Once everything is checked and mounted, make sure you use a few drops of "loc tite" thread compound to help lock the mounting bolt to the shaft. Read More...
