Dan for Model Number 795.75196400 My fridge and freezer won't maintain temp. The condenser coils seem reasonably clean; no frost on evap coils; the condenser and evap fans appear to be functional (no apparent mechanical issues, since the fans spin I haven't checked for any potential electrical issues with their motors). I think the compressor is running (though can't confirm); it seems quiet, though feels warm. After reading online, I'm wondering if the start relay, capacitor, and/or overload protector could be the culprit. Thoughts? How can I tell if the compressor is bad? Is it more likely one of the three aforementioned electrical components (if so, which)? Thank you!!!
Answer Hello Dan, thank you for contacting APP, It is possible that the Start Relay 6749C-0014E, Start Capacitor 0CZZJB2014L, or Overload Protector 6750C-0005P has failed and I normally suggest testing or replacing these components before looking at replacing the compressor. You can test the compressor start and run windings for Os resistance, but these may read in range and the compressor be locked up and unable to start. Read More...
