It should also be inspected for any play inside of the outer tub as it should not be able to move toward the tub in any direction when wiggling it around. If it does not move freely, there could be an item stuck between the basket and the tub or a failed bearings in the rear tub DC97-14604H. If there is play, the failure would be the spider shaft DC97-16509B. If neither of these things fail using this testing procedure, the next step would be identifying if there is an error code as this could indicate if there is a failure causing it to not spin.
