Frank for Model Number RS253BAWW Unit works fine but keep getting water under the bottom bin. Running out of the vents at the bottom of the cover for the evaporator unit. Have taken off the evap cover and the drain is always iced up. Run hot water until the drain is free and than it works for a time and than water starts to appear again. is there a heater for the evap drain? Any suggestions on keeping the drain open? Thanks
Answer Hello Frank, The defrost drain on these are common to freeze. The manufacturer advises technicians to make a small shepherds' hook from a piece of copper and dangle it from the defrost heater to the center of the drain hole. It is important not to let it hang into the hole since it will get red hot like the heater and if it can touch any plastic, it will melt it. Read More...
