Tomy, the defrost heater DA47-00311A would need to be tested for resistance while the unit is frozen up. The heater should measure 48 Ohms of resistance. If the heater tests good, it would be likely that the evaporator sensor DA32-10109W has failed.

Ron, You would want to test the defrost sensor [DA32-10105R] and the defrost bi-metal DA47-00095E to make sure that they are good. If the heater is bad then the evaporator would be needed but has been discontinued with no suitable replacement available.

Daniel for Model Number RS267LASH

My Refrigerator is not cooling enough. The freezer is working fine. When the refrigerator fan is on it makes a louder noise than it use to make. When I open the fridge door and the fan turns off I hear it rattling.I don't feel any air coming in from the vents. The temperate on the fridge sometimes says its 62 and at other times it says 46 in spite it feeling the same. I also noticed that the water dispenser tube is frozen. Please let me know of the items I need to purchase to fix this so that I may do so. Thanks and much appreciation for your wonderful website.

Daniel, based on the information provided, it sounds like there is a defrost problem in the refrigerator section. The defrost heater DA47-00323F can be tested for resistance and it should measure 103O. The refrigerator sensor DA32-10109Y will also need to be tested for resistance. This would be done by getting an accurate temperature check while measuring resistance from the main control (refrigerator unplugged from outlet) using the wires at connection CN90 from the gray wire at pin 7 to the brown wire at pin 6. At 60°F the resistance should be 7032O, 50°F would measure 8867O, 40°F would be 11000O, and 30°F would be 13857O. The defrost thermal fuse DA47-00301F would also need to be tested for continuity and should show as having continuity. If the tests are within range, then it is likely that there may be a control board failure. For the most accurate information regarding the main control, the full model and REV numbers would be necessary.

Michael, unfortunately, as we are a parts retail company, we would not be able to suggest what a reasonable repair cost would be as this can vary from area to area.

My 3 year old French door refrig continues to break down. The top ice maker constantly freezes up, I get loud fan noises. I had rest it, forced defrost, unplugged it for multiple sessions. Fianly I called a $200 repair and they came in and we discussed Samsung refit manufacturing issues. His machine showed I needed a new master circuit board and I had it replaced and took the hit. 2 weeks later, my freezer warmed up to 5 and refrigerator to 61. I unplugged it again for 30 minute reset and after plugging it in, the freezer dropped below zero but frig never moved. This is about the 6-7 time I have had this issue within 3 months. Today the refrig is flashing at 37 again. With spending $300+ again for repairs, is there a better process to end the cycle, or a recall notice or what can we do with the 2000 buck frig? Many more repairs I’ll have the cost of a new frig. Frustrated

John, It would be recommended to check the thermistors on the unit which at room temp should read 1090 ohms of resistance. Check the evaporator coils behind the refrigerator wall and check the frost pattern. If the coils are impacted with ice then the issue will be a defrost issue. Test the defrost heater and the defrost bimetal.

Robert, It is possible there is a leak in the sealed system.I believe first off i would try resetting by killing power for 5 minutes and see if that helps.Sometimes power outages will cause control issues.
