Serge Grynkorn for Model Number RF217ACWP Hello there, I had water leaking into the left crisper bin of my refrigerator. I purchased from you a new Assy Cover Evap part # DA-97-11823A. While changing the part, I observed that the drain was frozen. Using an air dryer I opened the drain and for a few days everything was working fine. I now again have water dripping into the crisper and therefore, it is obvious that the problem was not the evaporator cover but either the evaporator or the drain freezing. What do you think is happening?? Do you know if there is a possibility to attach onto the evaporator an electric part that goes into the drain and keep it open by warming up the water?? If the faulty part is the refrigerator evaporator, this is under warranty from Samsung. I changed the evaporator cover myself because the appliance is a bit more than one year and a half old and was not covered anymore. Please respond to my e-mail with your comments. In advance, I thank you for your help.
Answer Serge, The issue with the unit is going to be in the defrost drain in which you will want to clear out all of the ice and once the ice is cleared out you will want to try to flush the drain line as it sounds like it may be clogged.
