Tran N. for Model Number RS2534WW My freezer works fine, but the fridge doesn't cool (65deg). Unplug the power and defrost for 4 days. The fridge works again for another week. Look's like ice build up in the evaporator and the fan doesn't spin. Disconnect the evaporator fan from its connector and measure the coil resistance 144 ohm. The voltage at the connector is 120V while the fan disconnect. Connect the fan back, the source at the connector drops down to 1V. Please advice.Thank You.
Answer Hi Fran. You have a bad fan motor which ohms out OK but as when with all electrical devices, they may fail under a "load". It is reccommended strongly by the manufacturer that the complete fan assy. be replaced so all wiring harnesses, fan motor thermistor sensors and heaters that are all built into the plastic/Styrofoam package will ease installation and insure updated performance. This part # is DA97-02427E. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, November 5, 2011
