Robert for Model Number rs255basb The air passages at the evaporator were blocked with ice in the refridgerator compartment. The fan was working fine. I melted the ice and it worked OK. This condition had happened on occasion in the past two years. I checked the sensors' resistances and they checked OK. Any ideas to troubleshoot this problem will be appreciated.
Answer Hello Robert, This sounds like an air leak to me. Check the door seals and the ice door to ensure they are seating properly. You see, if the room temperature air is getting in, the humidity in that air will freeze in the air ducts between the freezer and fresh food compartments. I have even found items in the door of either compartment that, while the door appears to be closing, they are stopping the door just before the seal can make contact. Let us know what you find!
