Frozen Fingers Ron for Model Number RF266AEWP/xaa For several years now, I've been defrosting my refrigerator fan every few months. The drain tube froze up and I finally got it cleared again. That helped for quite a while, but we are now getting frozen water buildup under the crisper drawers, and the fan is making that old "iced right up to the gills "noise again. I initially looked up the problem and only found similarly irritated people, but no suggested fixes. Now I see that hope is possible. What parts can we replace to fix this problem once and for all? The fan seems to work fine still. Thanks
Answer Hello Ron, This issue is normally corrected by first clearing all of the ice build-up and clearing the defrost drain. Then replace the evaporator cover assembly DA97-07190G, install a defrost drain heater 819043 and move the evaporator temperature sensor to the other line coming into the rear of the compartment at the top of the evaporator coils. This normally prevents the issue from recurring. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, June 8, 2017
