Tom for Model Number DV220AEW Just replaced the heating element and turned on the dryer to test it out. Let it run for 1 minute and then stopped it and opened the door. The clothes in there were very hot and there was a burning smell. Any ideas on what the problem is??? I checked that the part fit my model before I purchased. Please help!
Answer Tom, As for the smell, the element will give off a burning odor as it burns off impurities from the manufacturing process and shipping. As for being hot you will want to check the vent system from the blower wheel to the outside of the home to ensure that it is clean and clear as this can cause overheating. Read More...
