Stephanie for Model Number DV438AER/XAA Need to replace Dryer Heating Element Assembly on my Samsung Front Loading Dryer. I know that the correct replacement part is DC97-14486A. I have removed the OEM assembly (to make certain I could) and can see that the nibs on the OEM part and the nibs of the replacement assembly DO NOT match. The OEM part only has one flat nib on what appears to be the connection for the Dryer High Limit Thermostat and the replacement assembly has two flat nibs. The original wiring, therefore, cannot be connected using the original wiring. Is there some type of alternative cable available to accommodate this design change? I have taken a photo of the OEM assembly to show the difference in the connecting nibs if that could be useful in answering this question.
Answer Stephanie, The manufacturer does not show a jumper wire to correct the wiring for the heater. This would require you to get some high temp wiring and high temp connectors.
