Rhyrhy for Model Number MAVT634AWW My washer was working fine but has had a slight burnt rubber smell for some time now. Well as of last night, once the spin cycle hits, it will slowly spin and make a humming noise but the water does not drain. The burnt rubber smell has gotten stronger. Could this be the belt? thanks!
Answer Hello Rhyrhy. It could be the belt, but you will need to turn the pulleys by hand and see what is binding up the belt. It could be the pump WP35-6780, or the thrust bearing 12002213 on the unit. If the thrust bearing is releasing the brake assembly, but the tub drags, you will need to replace the tub bearing W10219156. Hope this helps. Read More...
