Shuman I have a Whirlpool washer that takes a drive block 389140 this is the second time I have replaced this I think that the drive block design is a big blunder It makes a lot of noise at the end of spin, this last one lasted about 8 months!
Answer Hello Shuman, The drive block is probably being damaged by worn tabs on the basketdrive W10820043. If the corners of the tabs are worn so they are rounded instead of square, the weight of the load will cause the drive block to "jump" these tabs and it will eat out the center of the drive block. Since the basketdrive brake tube is stainless and the drive block is made of case metal, the drive block takes the brunt of the wear. Read More...
