Dave for Model Number 110.24862300 My washer makes a thumping noise for a brief time when it slows down or stops. My research led me to buy a clutch kit and start there however I'm wondering if the brake pads are the problem. Is there a way to tell? I saw the brake shoes you list as part # 285438 but when I enter my model # to check for compatibility it says it is not compatible with my model. Please point me to the correct part. Thank you.
Answer Dave, the basket drive W10820043 could potentially be worn out at the top where there are two "ears" that are used to secure the drive block WP389140 when spinning. If these two ears are worn out, it can cause a thump as the drive block skips over and the basket drive would need to be replaced in this case. Read More...
