Wally for Model Number KitchenAid Superba KSRG25 Hi. Have a question on our KitchenAid Superba side by side refrigerator freezer, model KSRG25. We have just had installed a reverse osmosis water filter system, which has a line running from the new tank under the sink to the refrigerator. This system negates the need for the KSRG25 water filter and the installer says to remove this filter and install a "bypass filter plug". My searches turn up no such part. Questions: can I just unscrew the refrigerator water filter cap, remove the filter, and reinstall just the filter cap? Will the refrigerator water and icemaker still work with this filter removed and getting water from the RO system? Any chance of leakage with this filter removed? If I need another part, what is it? Thank you for your time!
Answer Hello Wally, This particular design needs no bypass plug. When no filter is in, if it is working properly, water will automatically bypass the filter through the filter head. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, October 4, 2013
