Bill for Model Number GHW9300PW4 (Whirlpool Duet) Error code F06 comes on in spin/rinse cycle. Unplugging seems to re-set washer control (sometimes) and I can continue mnually setting the spin/rinse cycle until conclusion of the timer. Sometimes F06 comes on with only 2 minutes remaining in the spin cycle. Is this an indication of a defect with the MCU or is the Drive Motor a probable issue? Thanks.
Answer Hi Bill. The F-06 code is The control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will be unlocked after three minutes. Possible Causes / Procedure 1. Verify the shipping system including shipping bolts, spacers and cables are removed. 2. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 3. Check wire harness connections between the drive motor and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU). 4. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 5. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor. 6. Check the drive motor for powered rotations. Motor part # WP8182793. Motor control board part # W10756692. Main C.C.U board is part # WP8182789. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, November 28, 2011
