Ed for Model Number MDB7749AWQ2 The vent and soap dispenser doors do not open. I have been just throwing a pod in and using the normal cycle. Cleans OK, but the soap door should not open right away, and the interior stays wet because of the vent not working. I had replaced the soap dispenser (the old one had a burned up solenoid). The control panel was replaced under a recall recently. With the dispenser and control panel having been replaced, could the control panel be the cause of these symptoms?
Answer Ed, the vent WPW10164259 solenoid can be tested for resistance (with power to the dishwasher off) and it should measure between 600 to 1800 ohms of resistance. The dispenser can be tested for voltage during a normal cycle wash. At 9 minutes 15 seconds into the cycle, the main control W11202746 should send 120VAC to the dispenser solenoid. If 120VAC does not reach the dispenser, then the wires would need to be tested for continuity and inspected for loose connections. If the wires check good then the issue would be in the main control.
